What are the responsibilities and job description for the Dental Receptionist position at Belmont Dental Associates?
We are looking for a competent, enthusiastic, and reliable dental receptionist who will be a great fit for our office. This position will be part-time to start with the potential to become full-time in the future. You will ensure patients receive excellent care and customer service to make them feel comfortable, as well as well-informed about treatment and oral health. Dental receptionists should be well-organized with great attention to detail. You should be able to follow verbal and written instructions as well as a daily schedule to ensure the office runs in a timely manner.
Pay is negotiable based on experience.
Responsibilities (Receptionist)
- Greet and welcome patients upon arrival
- Answer, screen and forward incoming phone calls
- Ensure reception area is tidy and presentable, with all necessary stationery and materials (e.g. pens and forms)
- Work as part of a team with emphasis on communication
- Respond to patient questions and or concerns according to Office Policies
- Maintaining a daily schedule
- Follow up on no shows/cancellation of Appointments
- Accurately verify dental benefits
- Maintain detailed patient records
- Process patient payments, insurance claims and submit pre-authorizations to insurance companies
- Assist with presenting and/or explaining treatment plans
- Receive, sort and distribute daily mail/deliveries
- Maintain office security by following safety procedures and controlling access via the reception desk. (HIPAA)
- Perform other clerical receptionist duties such as filing, scanning, photocopying, transcribing and faxing
- Schedule and confirm appointments with patients via text, email, or phone call
Skills
- Prior work experience as a Receptionist/Front Office Representative in a dental office setting is required
- Knowledge of dental terminology
- Knowledge of Open Dental is preferred but not required
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (e.g. Microsoft Word)
- Hands-on experience with office equipment (e.g. fax machines and printers)
- Professional attitude and appearance
- Solid written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to be resourceful and proactive when issues arise
- Excellent organizational skills
- Multitasking and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks
Requirements
- High school diploma/degree or equivalent
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $18.00 - $19.00 per hour
Expected hours: 16 – 17 per week
