Position: Programs and Employer Relations Specialist
About the Role: Beloit College is seeking a dynamic and organized Programs and Employer Relations Specialist to manage and coordinate career readiness programs, including the prestigious Upton Forum and Business Networking Summit. This role also involves building and maintaining a network of employers and alumni to provide mentoring, internships, and job opportunities for students of the School of Business. Additionally, the Specialist will manage relationships with area high schools and coordinate critical events such as the high school DECA competition.
Key Responsibilities:
- Career Event Planning (30%):
- Coordinate the Business Networking Summit, ensuring a successful event for students, alumni, and friends.
- Oversee the Upton Forum, the premier academic program of the Department of Economics and Business, ensuring professionalism and synergy with career services.
- Plan and execute other career events for the Department of Economics and Business and the School of Business.
- Community Partner & Employer Relations (35%):
- Build and sustain relationships with area high schools and the Business School, including local events like the DECA competition.
- Collaborate with Community Connections, Career Works, and Alumni Connections to recruit internships, first destination employment, and volunteer opportunities.
- Serve as the employer point of contact for online recruiting tools and report on employer engagement using the Handshake platform.
- Alumni Relations (35%):
- Manage relationships with alumni, providing updates and responding to inquiries.
- Develop and sustain a career mentorship program, matching students with alumni mentors.
- Build and maintain relationships with alumni for recruitment purposes, using CRM tools like Raiser's Edge.
- Supervise Student Workers: Oversee the work of student employees.
Credentials and Experience:
- College degree preferred, or equivalent experience.
- At least 3 years of experience in public relations, event management, or project management.
- Experience in higher education is preferred.
- Proven ability to independently conceive and complete projects.
