CNC Machine Operator – Vertical Mill
Skills / Qualifications
- 1-3 years of experience programming, setting up, operating CNC machines
- Proficiency in reading & interpreting blue prints & technical drawings.
- Strong personal commitment to safety standards in industrial and/or manufacturing environments.
- Advanced math skills with the ability to understand measuring/measurement concepts and their applications.
- Mechanically skilled, practical, logical thinking, hands-on
- Familiar with hand tools, power tools
- Proficient with reading a tape measure to 1/16th, calipers, micrometers, etc.
- Detail oriented
Responsibilities
- 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM Monday through Friday with Overtime as required
- Set up & operate CNC Mills to produce precision parts according to specifications.
- Review and execute programs to produce parts
- Read blueprints, engineering plans, material documents, specifications, locations of surfaces, and machining parameters
- Understand the programming of mills through conversational software & G & M code by instructions, including zero and reference points; setting tool registers, offsets, compensation, and conditional switches; calculating requirements
- Setup of mills by installing and adjusting three- and four-jaw chucks, tools, attachments, collets, bushings, cams, gears, stops, and stock pushers, indicating vices, and tramming heads.
- Verify machine settings by measuring positions, first-run parts, and sample workpieces.
- Maintain appropriate specifications by observing drilling, grooving, and cutting, including turning, facing, taking measurements, detecting malfunctions, troubleshooting processes, adjusting and reprogramming controls, replacing worn tools, and adhering to quality assurance procedures and processes.
- Troubleshoot & resolve any issues that may arise during the machining process.
- Work collaboratively with team members to meet production goals.
- Contribute to team efforts by performing related duties as instructed in a respectful manner
- Work well with others and have a team-oriented mindset
