Position Title: STRUCTURAL WELDER/FITTER
Bens Structural Fabrication Inc is a leader in the industry with 50 years of experience, utilizing the latest technology and tools to get the job done.
We are looking for an experienced or aspiring structural welder to join our team, where you will be responsible for fitting steel parts, tacking, or welding parts to beams, columns, trusses, and other structural building components.
Key Responsibilities:
- Interpret shop drawings to determine weld requirements
- Surface preparation prior to and after welding
- Set up and operate welding equipment
- Conduct GMAW-pulse (MIG) welding in various positions on mild steel components
- Frequent lifting of 50-100 lbs
- Frequent and safe use of overhead crane expected
Job Details:
No Weekends
Monday-Thursday, 6:00am to 4:15pm schedule
Occasional overtime possible on Fridays from 6:00am-3:00pm
Report directly to our shop in Waite Park, no on-site project welding required
Requirements:
- Proven welding skills in GMAW – preferred 1 to 2 years of MIG-pulse experience
- Must be able to pass a Horizontal (2G) weld qualification test
- Ability to work in a fast-paced setting
- Reliable, self-motivated, team-oriented, adept communication skills
- Detail-oriented with ability to inspect material for quality
- A passion for the product, "feel-for-steel"
- Ability to read prints containing dimensions, common weld symbols, and weld specifications
- Must have a High School Diploma or equivalent
