Position DescriptionWith 50 years of experience, the latest technology, the tools to get the job done, and the most-passionate team in the industry, Ben's is the place to be for experienced or aspiring structural welders. And we're looking to add to our team.
The Structural Welder position is a key part of our fabrication process where you will primarily be responsible for fitting steel parts, tacking, or welding parts to beams, columns, trusses, and other structural building components. Ben's Structural Fabrication takes pride in all our steel fabrication projects, our quality assurance, and our commitment to safety and most importantly, our people.
Essential Duties:
- Review shop drawings and interpret them to determine weld requirements
- Surface preparation prior to and after welding (sand, grind, wire brush, degrease, etc.)
- Set up and operate welding equipment
- Conduct GMAW-pulse (MIG) welding in the flat and horizontal positions, on mild steel components
- Frequent lifting of 50-100 lbs
- Frequent and safe use of overhead crane expected
Job Details:
Schedule has No Weekends
Work Monday-Thursday, 6:00am to 4:15pm.
Occasional overtime is possible on Fridays from 6:00am-3:00pm.
Report directly to our shop in Waite Park, no on-site project welding required.
Position Requirements- Proven welding skills in Experience in MIG welding of MIG-pulse experience
- Must be able to pass a Horizontal (2G) weld qualification test
- Ability to work in a fast-paced setting
- Reliable, self-motivated, team-oriented, adept communication skills
- Detail-oriented with ability to inspect material for quality
- A passion for the product,
