We are currently seeking an Accounts Payable Specialist to join our team!
The Accounts Payable Specialist provides accounting support to major financial accounting areas, including accounts payable, general ledger accounting, and account reconciliations.
Primary Responsibilities
- Three-way matching: invoice, receiver, and purchase order
- Accounts Payable data entry – Volume approximately 200 invoices per day
- Review and code all invoices for appropriate documentation and approval before payment
- Maintain vendor files and W9 compliance
- Prioritize invoices for payment according to cash discount potential and payment terms
- Process check runs and file checks and invoice hardcopies
- Audit credit card bills and include receipts for payment processing
- Reconcile vendor statements, research, and correct discrepancies
- Analyze accounts in preparation for month-end closing
- Reconciliation of bank statements
- Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed
- Contribute to corporate projects and initiatives
Skill Requirements
- Strong work ethic and dependability
- Must possess professionalism, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work well with a team
- Knowledge of accounts payable/general ledger processes, financial chart of accounts, debits/credits, and corporate procedures.
- Strong attention to detail, written and verbal communication, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently
- Ability to handle distractions with an efficient return to task
- Ability to comply with procedures, rules, and policies
- Solid Excel skills
- Ability to communicate financial information in sound business language for all levels of the company
Education Requirements
Minimum Associate's degree in Accounting or Finance
Minimum 3 years experience in Accounting or Finance
