Benchmark is an environmental consulting and services company located near Katy, Texas. Benchmark offers a wide range of services including; hydrographic surveys, ecological assessment, eco-toxicology, environmental impact studies, wetland delineations, environmental permitting, environmental sampling (water, sediment, and biological), wetland construction/restoration, and wildlife ecology.

Position Description

Benchmark is currently searching for an Environmental Specialist with experience in;

• Setting up equipment on survey boat (side scan sonar, single and multibeam sonars, sub bottom sonar, GPS units)
• Collecting survey grade field data using the equipment listed above.
• Download field data and work up field data.
• Develop Figures for reports
  
  

An ideal candidate would have experience in all four areas listed above or have a strong background in one or more and be willing to learn about the other.

Listed below are some of the tasks associated with the position.

• Conduct and Manage Hydrographic Surveys
• Manage and Train Field Personel
• Work Closely with Clients and Project Managers
• Develop Proposals and Reports
  
  

Desirable Position Qualifications

• Bachelor level or higher degree in GIS, Geography, Engineering, or related degree
• A college degree is not a requirement if the candidate can demonstrate their capabilities
• 3 yrs experience conducting survey services.
• 40 Hour HAZWOPER Training
• Available to work out of town 5-10 days per month.
• GIS software experience
• Existing client relationships (a plus)
• Small boat operating experience

• Wetland Delineations
• Environmental Sampling
• Threatened and Endangered Species Surveys
• Drone Services
