Job Overview

We are seeking a Director, Strategic Development & Engagement to lead initiatives that strengthen relationships with our subscriber community. In this role, you will work closely with our Customer Success team to drive retention, mitigate risks, and ensure customer satisfaction and growth. You'll be a critical leader, aligning strategic goals with customer needs to maximize value for both the company and our customers.

We are a "Roll your sleeves up and get into the product!" type of organization, and the person in this role is expected to develop deep knowledge of the company's EHS (Environmental, Health, and Safety) digital solutions. Experience in the EHS digital solutions industry is highly desired to be effective in this role.

Key Areas of Responsibility

Strategic Development :

  • Design and implement strategies that cultivate deeper customer engagement and long-term loyalty.
  • Develop data-driven plans to identify opportunities for growth and mitigate potential risks.
  • Adapt to an evolving work structure and industry landscape, demonstrating flexibility and agility in approach.
  • Customer Engagement :

  • Build strong relationships with key customers and stakeholders, serving as a trusted advisor.
  • Collaborate with the Customer Success team to ensure customers achieve their desired outcomes.
  • Retention and Risk Management :

  • Monitor customer health metrics and proactively address retention risks.
  • Lead efforts to drive contract renewals and expand customer adoption of the organization's solutions.
  • Analyze renewal data and trends to identify areas for improvement and implement proactive measures to mitigate risks.
  • Community Building :

  • Strengthen the subscriber community through tailored programs, events, and communications that enhance collaboration and value sharing.
  • Collaborate with the product and solutions teams to identify and develop new offerings that align with the evolving needs of the subscriber community.
  • Within the key areas of responsibility, the Director, Strategic Development and Engagement will be expected to manage and track potential sales opportunities with customers that are aligned with the business's growth objectives, work through the various stages of the sales cycle, establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs), provide strategic guidance on the positioning, pricing, and go-to-market strategies for solutions, oversee the Continuation of Services and renewals processes, work closely with the sales and customer success teams to align on retention strategies, engage with executive-level stakeholders, and represent the subscriber growth operations function in executive-level discussions.

    Educational Background

    Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Environmental Science, Occupational Health and Safety, or a related field; advanced degree is preferred.

    Experience and Qualifications :

  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in subscriber growth, customer success, or related fields.
  • Proven experience in a strategic leadership role, preferably in SaaS or a related industry.
  • Adaptable to an evolving work / team structure and industry landscape, demonstrating flexibility and agility.
  • Knowledge and experience in Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) is highly desired, as this role may involve managing EHS-related aspects of subscriber growth operations.
  • Data-driven mindset with a track record of using analytics to inform strategic decisions.
  • Excellent relationship-building and communication skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally.
  • Strong understanding of customer success, retention strategies, and risk mitigation.
  • Experience with community engagement initiatives is a strong plus.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally (10-20%) to meet with customers or attend meetings / events at the company's headquarters.
