This role ensures smooth execution of routines, checklists, service standards, and timely resolution of guest concerns. Position Overview

The Bell Captain leads by example to deliver exceptional guest service while mentoring and supervising the team.
What You'll Do
- Supervise Bell, Valet, and Shuttle staff to meet daily departmental goals and maximize guest satisfaction.
- Train, support, and motivate team members while promoting a culture of service excellence.
- Anticipate and address guest service needs for arrivals, departures, VIPs, and groups.
- Greet guests warmly and ensure luggage assistance is timely and courteous.
- Oversee and verify all deliveries and associated paperwork/amenities.
- Handle guest issues professionally, ensuring service recovery where needed.
- Comply with all resort pricing and gratuity policies related to bell services.
- Communicate important updates to the bell team related to group and daily operations.
- Assist with arranging transportation on- and off-property, including pricing coordination.
- Monitor team performance and provide guidance, coaching, and corrective action as needed.
- Foster strong working relationships with other departments throughout the resort.
- Respond effectively to crisis or emergency situations.
- Manage timekeeping and assist with labor forecasting as needed.
- Assist with reservations, guest requests, and phone inquiries.
- Complete shift checklists and reports with accuracy.
- Delegate tasks effectively to ensure balanced workloads and high service quality.
- Ensures the bell position is alway covered, performs bell desk clerk duties as needed.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of all resort amenities and special events.
- Collaborate with resort staff and support other departments with necessary information.
- Promote resort amenities and upsell services when appropriate.
- Ensure a professional appearance and maintain Skamania Lodge dress code standards.
- Maintain awareness of safety concerns and report or address hazards promptly.
- Remain alert, courteous, and helpful to guests and colleagues at all times.
- Perform Manager-on-Duty shifts as scheduled.
- Cover breaks/lunches for Front Office departments.
- Assist with communications and the switchboard as needed.
