Job Title: Bell Captain

The Bell Captain will manage the daily operations of all areas of the Bell and Shuttle operations to maintain the integrity of daily routines, checklists, guest issues, and service standards.

What You'll Do:
  • On a day-to-day basis, supervise the Bell, Valet and Shuttle staff on daily departmental objectives and work to maximize guest satisfaction through ensuring performance standards and assisting where necessary to ensure optimum service to our guests and visitors.
  • Training, supervising, and motivating all Bell Staff
  • Maintaining knowledge and anticipating all Guest Service needs for all arrivals, departures, VIPS and incoming group business
  • Greeting all guests with a smile and an appropriate greeting.
  • Ensure proper positioning of Bell staff to provide and arrange assistance with luggage upon arrival/departure, to/from guest room or to locations specified within the resort.
  • Ensure all deliveries and ensure all paperwork is completed and for the deliveries/amenities.
  • Resolving guest issues with the ability to turn a negative experience to a positive experience
  • Comply with specific resort pricing and gratuity policies related to the position.
  • Communicate important information to bell staff related to all groups and anything related to the daily operations of the area.
  • Assist guests with resort transportation needs and arrange appropriate off property shuttling needs with associated pricing.
  • Monitoring staff performance – counseling and assistance with corrective action when needed.
  • Creating and sustaining relationships with other departments at the resort
  • Attend to crisis and emergency situations and perform service recovery.
  • Knowledge of payroll monitoring and forecasting
  • Assisting with phones; making reservations, guest requests and inquiries
  • Completing shift checklist and necessary reporting
  • Ensure authority and responsibility is properly delegated to all associates, so that the workload is distributed equally and handled in a professional manner.
  • Must be knowledgeable and possess the ability to perform all clerk essential functions and supportive functions.
  • Maintains an up to date working knowledge of all resort amenities as well as any special events.
  • Interacts with resort staff in a professional manner, assisting other departments with necessary information.
  • Up sells other resort services and amenities to guests.
  • Always maintain a professional demeanor and attitude.
  • Maintains constant awareness of safety issues, (i.e. broken glass, frayed electrical cords, leaks, broken locks and suspicious persons).
  • Acts with responsibility towards all company property, supplies and equipment.
  • Maintains a professional appearance. Follows all Skamania Lodge dress code standards.
  • Remains alert, courteous and helpful to the guests and colleagues at all times.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Supportive functions: In addition to performance of the essential functions, this position may be required to perform a combination of supportive functions, with the percentage of time performing each function to be solely determined by the supervisor based upon the particular requirements of the resort.
  • Perform Manager on Duty shifts
  • Relieve Front Office departments or staff for breaks/lunches
  • Assist on the communications switchboard
Compensation:

$20.00 an hour tips.

We provide full-time benefits to hourly employees that work 30 or more hours per week.

Hire to one year: 88 hours/year, 120 Max (.04231 X All Hours Paid)
1 years/Less than 5 years: 128 hours/year, 160 Max (.06154)
5 years/Less than 10 years: 168 hours/year, 200 Max (.08077)
10 years: 208 hours/year, 240 Max (.10000)

HOURS:
Full-time, 40 hours per week.
This is a 24-7, 365 days a year business that will require some work during nights, weekends, and holidays. Must have a flexible schedule that can move between shifts and days as needed.

Qualifications:
  • Updated Drivers License and provided Drivers License record check has no violations
  • At least one year of experience in Bell or Front of the House hospitality service
Compensation Range: The compensation for this position is $20.00/Hr. - $20.00/Hr. based on qualifications and experience.
