Overview
Hello Certified Veterinary Technicians! We are a privately owned, 4 doctor, mixed animal practice, looking to add another technician to our team. We are seeking someone who is personal, driven and self-starting. The ideal candidate will be team-oriented, demonstrate a strong work ethic, and positive attitude. This position interfaces with clients, assists in exam rooms, dentistry and surgery. Technicians and assistants are a crucial link between the clients and doctors. Wage is based on certification and experience.
Our clinic is open Monday through Friday 8 AM to 6 PM and Saturday 9 AM to 4 PM
Our technicians work 4 days a week, 10 hour shifts, Monday through Friday.

Responsibilities
- Nursing care for hospitalized patients, including walking, feeding, cleaning and medicating.
- Monitoring patients under anesthesia and hospitalized patients. Recording vital signs
- Preparing patients for surgery
- Perform routine dental cleanings.
- Client education regarding post-op care and general education
- Administer medications, vaccinations and treatments as prescribed by the doctor.
- Collect and prepare lab samples, including, blood, urine, feces, and tissue
- Obtain radiographs (digital radiography) using proper techniques and PPE
- Maintain accurate medical records. Obtaining medical histories
- Maintain surgical instruments and anesthesia equipment
- Restrain patients for veterinarians and assist with medical procedures
- Perform "tech appointments" involving nail trims, anal gland expression and medication injections or vaccinations
Sometimes there is a need for additional duties including answering and making phone calls, scheduling appointments, cleaning and preparing exam rooms, general cleaning and organizing of the hospital, and processing payments.

Requirements
- Up to date license as a Certified Veterinary Technician in Oregon
- Previous experience in a veterinary clinic or animal hospital preferred
- Experience with with large animal preferred but not required
- Excellent communication skills with doctors, client, and other team members
- Attention to detail
- Punctuality
- Adaptability
- Ability to restrain and handle animals safely and compassionately
- Ability to stand for long periods of time. Frequent bending, kneeling, squatting and lifting
