Position Title
Produce Manager
Wage: $22.50-$30 per hour, depending on experience.
Description
As the lead member of our Produce team, you will be in charge of every aspect of our produce department. This job is perfect for someone who enjoys working with people and customers and who loves fresh, organic fruits and vegetables. A solid foundation in buying, receiving, merchandising, and team-building is required.
Responsibilities
- Warmly greet customers and assist them in their produce purchases
- Purchase produce within pre-determined guidelines for margin and shrink
- Receive all orders and keep all backstock rotated and organized
- Merchandise & promote produce within department guidelines
- Accurately manage all produce pricing, COO and PLU sheets for casheirs.
- Hire qualified candidates and ensure on-the-job training and accountability.
- Review sales data, ensuring we hit targets for margin, shrink, sales, and labor.
Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of produce experience.
- Experience serving the public and working collaboratively in a team setting
- Minimum of five years of purchasing and merchandising experience
- Supervisory experience: hiring, training, directing, and evaluating team members
- Familiarity with retail produce and knowledge of organic and commercial growing practices
- Ability to lift 50 pounds continuously and to stand for prolonged periods
- Ability to handle multiple demands and remain calm under pressure
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $22.50 - $30.00 per hour
