Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Provide effective supervision to staff which fosters a team atmosphere, holds staff accountable to performance standards, and resolves employee problems.
- Develop, implement and maintain accurate accounting procedures.
- Responsible for maintaining accurate databases and billing systems.
- Responsible for the processing of accurate financial and aggregate reports on a timely basis.
- Supervise finance specialist and/or administrative specialist in internal audit process, monthly invoicing, data entry and bank reconciliations.
- Respond to Director, Veris Consortium as assigned with accurate and timely work to facilitate his or her needs and participate in special projects as necessary.These duties and responsibilities are intended to describe the general nature and level of work involved for this job. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be able to travel occasionally.
- Must be able to sit or stand and type utilizing computer for up to 80% of the workday.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance or similar field required.
- 5-10 years Finance or Accounting experience, preferably in the employee benefit plan accounting and/or health insurance industry.
- General knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
- Attention to detail and accuracy is required.
- Ability to exercise sound judgment in resolving accounting discrepancies.
- Excellent computer skills required, specifically with QuickBooks, Microsoft Excel and Access software.
- Excellent communication skills in both verbal and written format required.
- Strong planning, multi-tasking and organizational skills.
- Effective time management skills are required to meet deadlines.
