Position Summary:
The Accounting Manager will play a critical role in supporting our financial operations, overseeing key functions such as month-end and year-end financial statement preparation, AP/AR management, payroll, and fixed asset tracking. This role also includes collaborating with project managers, driving process improvements, and supporting our transition to a paperless environment. We’re seeking a hands-on professional who can streamline accounting processes, provide valuable insights through cash flow analysis, and work effectively with cross-functional teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Reporting and Month/Year-End Close:
- Lead the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP.
- Support tax-basis depreciation by maintaining accurate Fixed Asset records and schedules.
- Accounts Payable & Accounts Receivable:
- Manage AP/AR functions to maintain effective cash flow and timely payment processing.
- Conduct regular review and reconciliation of AR/AP ledgers.
- Payroll and Compliance:
- Oversee weekly payroll processing, including prevailing wage reporting and filing, ensuring accuracy and compliance with all relevant regulations.
- Maintain up-to-date records and filings as required for on-site credentialing in collaboration with Project Managers.
- Internal Reporting & Process Improvement:
- Maintain and enhance production and efficiency reporting to provide meaningful insights to senior management.
- Lead the transition to paperless processes, optimizing systems for efficiency and accessibility.
- Assist in the setup and onboarding of new employees, ensuring smooth integration into our organization.
- Cash Flow and Growth Support:
- Provide cash flow analysis and forecasting to support strategic growth and business planning.
- Collaborate on ad-hoc projects as assigned by senior management, contributing insights and analysis as needed.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or CMA preferred but not required.
- Minimum of five years of progressive accounting experience, with a strong foundation in financial reporting, payroll, and AP/AR management.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and regulations.
- Proficiency in accounting software and experience with paperless accounting systems is a plus.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with both finance and non-finance teams.
