Job Description:
We are seeking one or more Pool Managers to be a key part of our BFRA pool community. The Pool Manager(s) are responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the BFRA facility, including managing staff, ensuring patron safety, maintaining compliance with regulations, and coordinating pool and concession operations. This position requires strong leadership, organization, and communication skills to effectively manage the facility and provide an enjoyable and safe environment for all members and guests.
Qualifications:
- Experience operating a community pool or similar facility
- Knowledge and understanding of the Rules of the Tennessee Department of Health, including Chapter 1200-23-5 (Pool) and Chapter 1200-23-01 (Food Service), as applicable.
- Strong management and leadership skills.
- Excellent public relations and customer service abilities.
- Basic understanding of swimming pool equipment and machinery operations.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure that all BFRA staff uphold patron safety and general welfare at all times.
- Enforce compliance with the BFRA Policies and Procedures Manual among all staff members.
- Hire, train, manage, and, if necessary, terminate staff in alignment with BFRA policies.
- Train staff on BFRA policies, procedures, rules, and safety protocols.
- Oversee certification process for all lifeguards
- Act as the official spokesperson in emergency situations and assist staff as needed.
- Collaborate with the Pool Maintenance Engineer to maintain the facility and ensure proper functioning of equipment.
- Maintain regular and consistent supervision over pool staff and operations.
- Oversee the effective operation of the concession stand, including procurement and inventory management.
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and county regulations.
- Approve minor irregular purchases and refer larger repairs/purchases to the Board of Directors.
- Manage proper handling and regular deposit of all monies collected at the BFRA facility.
- Maintain accurate records and reports related to pool operations, staffing, and financial transactions.
- Perform additional tasks as assigned by the Board of Directors.
Schedule & Compensation:
- Seasonal position with variable hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Early April through end of September, with varying amounts of time required throughout the season.
- Compensation is hourly and will be based on experience and qualifications.
