What are the responsibilities and job description for the Intervention Specialist- Elementary position at Benjamin Rush Elementary School?
Bensalem Township School District is seeking to hire a Intervention Specialist to provide elementary level reading interventions to students. Begining 2025-2026 SY. This is a full time- permanent position
Preferred Qualification:
- Experience with RTI/MTSS framework
- Experience with data management system for progress monitoring and assesment
Role:
-
· Provide intervention in elementary Reading
· Provide progress assessment, progress monitoring, and observational data on students receiving intervention.
· Analyze data from multiple sources to determine student strengths and weaknesses.
· Facilitate the tier process ensuring students move fluidly between the tier levels based on level of need.
· Review documentation and monitoring to ensure students have received proper tier I interventions prior to being recommended for tier II intervention.
· Support classroom teachers in identifying students in need of intervention.
· Support classroom teachers in identifying tier I interventions to be used by the classroom teacher.
· Participate meetings with principal, teachers, curriculum coordinator, and supervisor as needed.
- Required Skills:
· K-6 Elemeentary and reading specialist
Excellent organizational, communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work effectively as part of a mutidisciplinary team and with diverse student population.
