Position Overview :

Benmar Construction is looking for a dedicated and experienced Commercial Construction Site Superintendent to oversee the day-to-day operations of our commercial construction projects based in and around Central Florida. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the construction site, ensuring that projects are completed on time, within budget, and meet our high standards of quality and safety. You will lead a team of construction professionals, coordinate subcontractors, and ensure compliance with safety protocols and building regulations.

Key Responsibilities :

• Project Oversight : Manage all aspects of the construction site including the coordination of subcontractors, material deliveries, and scheduling to ensure timely project completion.
• Team Leadership : Supervise and direct field staff, subcontractors, and laborers. Ensure that all team members understand their responsibilities and are held accountable for meeting project goals.
• Safety Management : Maintain a high standard of safety by ensuring compliance with OSHA regulations and conducting regular safety meetings and site inspections.
• Quality Control : Monitor construction progress, ensuring that work is completed in accordance with the project specifications and industry standards.
• Schedule & Budget Management : Develop, manage, and update project schedules. Oversee budget control and report any deviations from project cost expectations.
• Client Interaction : Serve as the main point of contact for clients and project managers. Provide regular updates on project status and address any client concerns in a timely and professional manner.
• Documentation & Reporting : Maintain accurate records of project activities, including daily logs, safety reports, and change orders. Ensure proper filing and compliance with all regulatory requirements.
• Problem Solving : Proactively resolve construction issues, such as delays or unforeseen challenges, while ensuring minimal impact to the overall project timeline and quality.
Qualifications :
• Education :
• High school diploma or GED required.
• A degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field is preferred but not mandatory.
• Experience :
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in commercial construction as a site superintendent or in a similar leadership role.
• Experience managing commercial construction projects, including office buildings, retail spaces, and other large-scale projects.
• Proven ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines and maintaining quality.
• Skills & Abilities :
• Strong knowledge of commercial construction processes, materials, and techniques.
• Excellent leadership and team management capabilities.
• Proficiency in reading blueprints, specifications, and other technical documents.
• Strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Familiarity with Florida building codes and local regulations.
• Proficient in construction management software (Procore, or similar platforms).
• Certifications :
• OSHA 30-hour certification required.
• CPR / First Aid certification is preferred.
• LEED or other sustainability-related certifications are a plus.
• Physical Requirements :
• Ability to work on-site in varying weather conditions.
• Ability to stand, walk, and lift up to 50 lbs for extended periods.
• Must be able to navigate the construction site, which may include climbing stairs or scaffolding.
• Additional Requirements :
• A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for site visits in the Ocala area.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to handle pressure in a fast-paced environment.

Work Environment :

The Commercial Construction Site Superintendent will work primarily at construction sites located in and around Central Florida. The position may require working outdoors in diverse weather conditions and managing long hours, occasional weekend work, and travel between various job sites.
