What are the responsibilities and job description for the World Language Teacher position at Bennington-Rutland Supervisory Union?
Bennington-Rutland Supervisory Union seeks a passionate and dedicated World Language Teacher (Spanish or French) to join our team of collaborative and enthusiastic staff for the 2025/2026 school year. In this position, the World Language Teacher will deliver a comprehensive Spanish or French education program to middle school students. As an itinerant position, the World Language Teacher will travel to multiple sites throughout the district as assigned. The primary responsibility of the World Language Teacher will be to create engaging and interactive lesson plans that align with ACTFL standards, fostering a supportive and inclusive learning environment for all students. The World Language Teacher will develop in each student an appreciation and understanding of their assigned world language, and its cultural history, geographical regions, values, and customs that benefit the development of the whole person, others, and environment.
Applicants are expected to know current instructional research and evidence-based instructional practices. Strong candidates will demonstrate a student-centered approach, exemplary oral and written communication skills, strong relationship building skills with students, and a commitment to working collaboratively with all colleagues. The ideal candidate will be fluent in Spanish or French and have extensive experience teaching Spanish or French to students in the middle grades.
