What are the responsibilities and job description for the Foreign Language Teacher position at Southwest Vermont Supervisory Union?
Duties (include but are not limited to) :
- Demonstrate knowledge of subject through instructional practices
- Guide the learning process toward the achievement of district curriculum goals by designing and implementing lessons that promote growth in students' language proficiency in all modes of the language : speaking, listening, reading, writing and culture, using a variety of instructional techniques
- Use assessment information to provide students with feedback, which is corrective and informative
- Establish and maintain standards of student behavior conducive to an effective learning environment
- Develop written lesson plans in advance
- Maintain productive lines of communication with students, parents, and colleagues concerning both the academic and social progress of all students
- Work with colleagues to develop and maintain a performance-based curriculum and criteria for standards-based grading
- Implement administrative directives in a professional manner
- Adhere to all District policies and regulations
