Description
We are seeking a driven and passionate dance instructor to teach various styles of dance to children and/or adults. Dance styles we are looking for include, but are not limited to, ballet, tap, hip hop, ballroom, jazz, acro, and musical theatre. This role will focus on creating a supportive, inclusive learning environment while fostering a love for dance in new students and facilitating growth in experienced students. Under direct supervision, the dance instructor will plan lessons, organize performances, and collaborate with other staff to enhance community engagement through dance. DUTIES AND ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Develop and implement progressive dance lesson plans with a clear goal in mind.
- Create a welcoming and supportive classroom environment that cultivates growth and creativity.
- Teach dance techniques that are appropriate for age and skill level and ensure activities are accessible for all students.
- Monitor student progress and communicate effectively with students, parents, and supervisor.
- Collaborate with other team members to build and expand the dance programming.
- Attend team meetings and trainings to continuously improve personal teaching practices.
- Participate in dance events such as parties, festivals, and recitals.
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree and/or experience in dance education.
- Strong background in various dance styles.
- Working knowledge of group and individual teaching strategies and safe dance practices.
- Professional and motivated attitude with the ability to cooperate and work well with other staff members.
- Willingness to lead students by example including, but not limited to punctuality, dress, and demonstration of techniques and choreography.
- CPR and First Aid certification is a plus.
- Spanish speaking is a plus.

SALARY $15.00-$18.00 per hour, depending on experience
HOURS 5-10 hours per week including evenings and weekends
