Description
The Pool Manager provides overall facility management of the outdoor Bensenville Water Park & Splash Pad. This position reports directly to the Aquatics Supervisor. Duties include, but are not limited to, planning, risk management, training and development of staff, oversight of programs, promotion of facilities and programs, problem-solving, and customer service.
DUTIES AND ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Assists in the hiring, training, supervision, and evaluation of all Water Park Staff; preference to those capable of certifying lifeguards in the StarGuard Elite lifeguarding program.
- Supervises all Water Park programs including swim lessons and Water Park special events.
- Oversees Water Park rentals and administrative tasks as assigned by the Aquatics Supervisor.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Oversee daily maintenance of the aquatic facility during open hours including water quality of pools.
- Responsible for the supervision of cash handling and financial reports.
- Responsible for implementation of the Water Park Emergency Action Plan to include responding to emergencies and proper documentation of incidents.
- Planning and executing special events hosted at the Bensenville Water Park & Splash Pad.
- Additional tasks and responsibilities may be assigned at the discretion of the Aquatic Supervisor.
Qualifications
- 3 years’ experience in Aquatics management including 2 years in management of Lifeguards, Swim Instructors and CPR/AED Instructors through StarGuard Elite.
- StarGuard Elite Instructor certification or ability to become certified during pre-season.
- Certified in CPR/AED Trainer or the ability to acquire prior to employment.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- The ability to solve problems comprehensively and to produce accurate work on a timely basis.
- Proficient in utilizing web communications technologies such as Facebook and Rainout Line.
- Good computer skills, proficient with Word, Publisher, Excel, Outlook, and the Adobe suite. Experience with RecTrac registration system preferred.
- Appropriate license to drive a vehicle, if necessary.

SALARY $19 per hour
HOURS 20 hours pre-season hours per week, 35-40 hours including evenings and weekends during summer season. Hours are subject to change based on park district needs
