Position Summary:
We are seeking a Entertainment Team Manager to support the New Orleans Saints and New Orleans Pelicans entertainment teams, including the Saints Cheer Krewe, Pelicans Hype Team, PelSquad Dance Team, The Early Birds Senior Dance Team and the Mascots for both teams. The ideal candidate is a creative, solutions-oriented professional who will help ensure that the entertainment teams delight our fans, while service as community ambassadors for the brands.
This role requires technical dance knowledge, choreography experience, attention to detail, and the ability to connect with fans through performance and personal interactions.
What you will be doing:
Coordinate practice schedule for all entertainment teams, lead workouts and run practices for all entertainment teams
Organize and coordinate community appearance schedules for team members, working with internal departments such as Corporate Partnerships, Community Relations, Marketing / Events, etc.
Assist with managing the audition process and selection of entertainment teams; including but not limited to: develop and teach choreography at pre-audition workshops, lead workouts and warmups at auditions, assist with music queueing and order of operations at auditions, conducting interviews, and assisting leadership with selection of final team
Coordinate and manage the orientation and onboarding process for the various teams, and ensure team members comply with policies, procedures, and processes
Order, organize, and assist with the selection of entertainment team uniforms, shoes and accessories
Assist with injury reports and workers compensation process
Assist with entertainment team photoshoots and media day
Conduct exit interviews at the conclusion of the season(s) to ensure team members have outlined goals for the upcoming season and audition process, if applicable
Ensure the entertainment teams deliver upon the organization's game experience strategy and brand
Approve timecards for all entertainment team members, ensuring any issues are brought to Payroll or HR attention
Other duties as assigned by Director or Vice President
What you’ll bring:
5 years of experience working in a professional setting within live entertainment, sports, and/or special events
Prior experience in technical dance, either as a choreographer or a dancer
Ability to execute creative solutions that are in line with current popular culture, music, fashion and trends
Must have experience with managing a group of individuals and have the ability to coach varying levels of experience
Strong project management skills and the ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast paced, ever changing environment
Must be able to sit, stand, walk, and more for long and extended periods of time
Must be able and willing to work unusual hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays based on the entertainment teams practice schedule and the game schedule for the NBA and NFL
