POSITION SUMMARY:

The Relationship Director for Benson Signs Division is responsible for leading and managing all aspects of client projects. They are primary point of contact for clients, facilitating project discussions, providing estimates, and manage the billing and payment process. The RD is responsible for ensuring that all projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the satisfaction of the client.   

To be successful in this role, the RD will need excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, as well as strong organizational and project management skills. They will also need to be able to work well under pressure and comfortably manage multiple projects simultaneously. In addition, the Relationship Director should have a strong understanding of architectural signage and be able to provide expert guidance and advice to clients as needed.   

Relationship Directors are paid a base salary plus commission.  

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Acts as the primary point of contact for client request and project inquiries.  
  • Facilitates project discussions, design approvals, financial estimates with clients, Project Managers, and production teams.  
  • Leads meeting with client, PM, PC, and Sign Art to discuss and document design details.  
  • Attends pre-production meeting with PM, PC, and production manager.   
  • Determines signage strategy and site considerations from survey, then review with client.  
  • Onboards new clients and manages the day-to-day relationship.  
  • Increases revenue of current clients by gaining an understanding of each client’s needs.  
  • Develops a complete understanding of product, pricing, and proposal models.   
  • Answers client’s questions about products, prices, availability, product uses, and invoicing terms.   
  • Manages billing and payment process, including collecting deposits and final payments based on project milestones.  
  • Sells consultatively and makes recommendations to prospects and clients.   
  • Enters information into corporate systems to engage workflows, enable track of jobs and status updates.  
  • Develops and maintains an accurate database of qualified leads through referrals, telephone canvassing, face to face cold calling, direct mail, email, and networking.  
  • Prepares presentations, estimates, and sales contracts.  
  • Consults with clients after sales or contract signings to resolve problems and to provide ongoing support.   
  • Attends staff meetings, training programs, and performance evaluations as directed to develop sales and service skills.   
  • Helps prepare status reports for sales meetings, including activity, closings, follow-up, and adherence to goals.   
  • Carries out market research (competitive shops, customer surveys, etc.).   
  • Participates in networking and marketing events, such as seminars, referral groups, trade shows, and telemarketing programs, as required.  
  • Identifies and resolves customer satisfaction issues.   
  • Establishes and maintains effective team relationships with all departments.   
  • Communicate with supervisors, peers, or subordinates to receive feedback.   
  • Helps collect account receivables.   
  • Performs other duties as may be assigned.   
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:  
  • Required, Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Management or related field or equivalent experience  
  • Required, Project Management certification(s) preferably, Scrum Master, Agile, or other industry iterative methodologies  
  • Required, 5 to 7 years of Architectural Signage sales   
Work Experience:  
  • Required, 5 years Business to Business outside signage sales experience   
  • Required, significant understanding of sales skills and techniques  
SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILTIES, COMPETENCIES:
  • Ability to work without direct supervision   
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills   
  • Ability to organize, prioritize, and manage clients, team members, and work effectively and efficiently  
  • Superior relationship building, networking, and customer service skills   
  • Excellent account planning and time management skills   
  • Strong consultative selling skills/experience   
  • Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and multitasking  
  • Experience using job and workflow management software programs  
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office and CRMs  
  • Working knowledge of Salesforce CRM  
  • Proven experience achieving goals and business objectives   
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills  
  • Basic math skills  
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
  • Working at computer and sitting for long periods of time. (sitting, talking, hearing)  
  • Moderate to high travel (may require driving or sitting in a plane for long periods of time)  
  • Capable of working weekends and/or staggered shifts, as required to execute the job  
  • Vision abilities are required to proofread at close vision and confirm correct color and focus
