Bilingual Food Production Manager (English/ Spanish) - 2nd Shift

Location:
- Food Factory: 1850 Raymer Ave, Fullerton, CA, 92283 (N. Gilbert St and W. Commonwealth Ave.) The location operates 7 days a week.
- Schedule: Tuesday - Saturday 3 PM - 12 AM. You may be required to rotate shifts.
Job Responsibilities:
The second shift Production Manager reports into the Site Production Manager and is responsible for overseeing and managing the second shift production operations with the goal of maximizing quality, efficiency and maintaining compliance with food safety, quality assurance and health and safety.
• Direct Management of the second shift Production Supervisory Team – schedule to ensure adequate coverage across all shifts
• Lead daily huddles with respective to the operations function
• Manage the second shift labor scheduling for permanent and agency production in accordance with production needs but ensuring labor KPIs are met
• Implementation and enforcement of Bento QA and Food Safety programs without compromise
• Manage and provide KPI metrics to the Site Production Manager, Plant Manager, and Bento Leadership team on an ongoing basis. Develop plans to improve performance
• Working with People Operations and Health and Safety, create and maintain a Safety Culture focused on incident prevention, continuous improvement, and compliance with all H&S regulations.
• Optimize production sequence to maximize efficiency while balancing distribution constraints to the various regional stores
• Recommend additional equipment and automation as needed to improve performance with time studies to prove savings.
• Spend time 80% of time on the floor monitoring day to day operations
• Provide daily material usage to ERP Coordinator to ensure inventory levels are maintained accurately in JustFoods
• Create training plans for new production teammates in various functions
• For new product launches ensure trials are carried out with the 2nd shift team and suggest improvements to the Feasibility meeting team
• Recommend production sheet improvement to drive production accuracy
• Work with Engineering and maintenance department to keep abreast of equipment and facility conditions – recommend preventative maintenance and ordering of spare parts in conjunction with this team
• Identify and provide recommendations to Site Production manager and Plant Manager to mitigate risks across the operations function
• Participate in special projects as needed
Qualifications
• A minimum of 5 years experience in a supervisory role in the Food Manufacturing industry.
• Must be fully bilingual in English and Spanish.
• Knowledge of Food Safety standards and HACCP experience.
• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles.
• Leadership skills to manage a food processing facility.
• Ability to motivate and direct a team.
• Ability to manage temperature controlled products.
• Be proficient with MS Office programs.
