IT Support Specialist

Benton County Sheriff’s Office is hiring an IT Support Specialist

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

1. Assist computer users with routine hardware troubleshooting.
2. Assist computer users with software support for the following set of standard applications:  Microsoft Windows Desktop, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Internet Explorer
3. Assist computer users with software support of custom and canned applications.
4. Provide hardware troubleshooting and repair for: personal computers, printers, network devices, cabling and peripherals.
5. Install personal computer equipment and software as well as network related equipment and software.
6. Maintain accurate inventory of all equipment for the Information Technology department.
7. Complete other assigned tasks.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:EITHER: A Bachelor's Degree* in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems (CIS), or a closely related field from an accredited college or university. 

 OR: An Associates Degree* in computer science, Computer Information Systems (CIS), or a closely related field from an accredited college or university AND two (2) years of progressively responsible experience at a medium to large scale computer or client/server system involving responsibility for customer communications, problem analysis on computer equipment and peripherals, system performance monitoring, and performing network functions.

 OR: A High School Diploma or GED Equivalency Diploma issued by a State Department of Education.* AND four (4) years of progressively responsible experience at a medium to large scale computer or client/server system involving responsibility for customer communications, problem analysis on computer equipment and peripherals, system performance monitoring, and performing network functions.
