Job Summary:

The Aerial Construction Foreman will perform duties related to the construction, repair and upgrade of telecommunications/cable systems in an outside plant environment.

Responsibilities:

• Leads on various size projects.
• Ensures accuracy of time sheets and expense reports
• Develops work-around procedures for maintaining crew productivity during delays caused by other trades, customers, lack of materials, absenteeism, etc.
• Monitors Quality Assurance and ensures work meets customer specification and industry standards.
• Ensures safety practices are observed by all crews during their work.
• Install and repair aerial telecommunications cable.
• Safely use hand tools and equipment such as wrenches, drills, ladders, lanyards, saws, lashers, climbing hooks, and more.
• Safely operate mechanized equipment such as bucket trucks, digger derricks, excavators, and more.
• Setting up safety perimeter using signage, cones, safety barriers
• Perform duties according to industry standards.
• Effectively be able to read area maps.
• Effectively and accurately record daily production on job site maps.
• Acquire necessary materials and inventory from warehouse.

Qualifications: All positions require participation in the federally compliant FMSCA drug and alcohol testing program. This includes both pre-employment and ongoing random testing.

• 5 years’ demonstrated experience in a similar role with the telecommunications construction industry
• Knowledge of Installation of aerial and underground cables and/or support members in conformance with all applicable codes, regulations, and customer specifications (NEC Electrical Code, System and/or City Specifications).
• Must be experienced in all aspects of overhead aerial fiber construction.
• Must have experience running a crew of 4 to 5.
• Certified pole climber or capable of demonstrating proficiency as a pole climber.
• Excellent time management and multitasking skills
• Effectively communicate with management and team members
• Ability to work in an outdoor environment during all times of the year.
• Ability to lift and operate necessary materials, tools, and equipment.
• Able to lift/carry 50 lbs. regularly and up to 75 lbs. as needed with or without assistance.
• Authorized to work in the United States for this company.
• Have a valid standard Driver's License
• Valid CDL-A is strongly desired.
