New Business Strategy Development
- Working with senior management, form short-term and long-term strategies to grow the company into appropriate new markets.
- Develop short- and long-term strategies to sustain growth in the fiber, coax, aerial, underground, and FTTH construction and build market (Benton’s current market).
- The individual should be able to identify immediate opportunities that are a match to Benton’s core competencies.

New Business Development - The individual will identify new markets/opportunities and take advantage of changing client requirements to be successful in new bids. Specific tasks to be performed include:
- Market existing Benton clients to continue and expand work
- Identify new opportunities/clients and position Benton to receive this work
- Monitor multiple data sources to identify new business opportunities (web sites, customer new business opportunities, networking, industry briefings, etc.)
- Identify strategic tradeshows to participate in, coordinate vendor exhibits and attend the shows.
- Form strategic partnerships with other large primes – for subcontracting or teaming opportunities
- Acquire market intelligence to give Benton the best competitive advantage
- Make business presentations to potential new clients

Proposal Development
- The individual will provide strategic input on selected proposals. This will include determining the proposal approach, themes, and competitive advantages, and selecting sub-contractors, partners and SMEs.
- The individual may also assist in developing Teaming Agreements and work shares where Benton has partners or is part of a team.

Minimum Qualifications:
Education and/or Experience:
- BA/BS degree in business, marketing or a related discipline is required.
- Technical background and experience in fiber optic construction and FTTH (Fiber to the Home) will be considered a strong plus.
- 10 to 15 years of demonstrated experience in capturing new business in various markets, particularly in the areas of fiber, coax, aerial, underground, and FTTH construction and build.
- The candidate must show experience in identifying leads, developing a strategy, leading a capture effort, and bringing about a contract win.
Computer Skills:
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office package (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
- Smartsheet experience is preferred.
