What are the responsibilities and job description for the Junior Adhesives Coatings Engineer position at Beontag?
POSITION PURPOSE: Lead scale-up of new products from laboratory to commercial scale using a strong understanding of structure function principles of polymer adhesives systems, materials science, and gravure coatings technologies.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
- Lead scale-up of products by leveraging coating process and adhesives formulation expertise.
- Apply scientific methodologies to distill fundamental learnings and principles governing material and product performance
- Offer subject matter expertise related to gravure coating of adhesives
- Translate customer and market needs to technical deliverables
- Design products fit for manufacturing on gravure coating technologies with a focus on quality
- Develop new pressure sensitive adhesives using scientific methodologies and principles.
- Create and execute technical project plans for delivering new products, technologies, and technical capabilities.
- Evaluate processes to understand critical material transformations and make informed material decisions.
- Characterize materials to relate fundamental material characteristics to target performance characteristics.
- Recommend and guide material and process changes based on market, quality, and operational requirements.
- Support site safety requirements and work in a manner to promote a safe and healthy work environment.
Hands on laboratory experience and work ethic
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Master's degree or higher in a science or engineering discipline from an accredited university and at least three years’ experience in the coatings industry, or a bachelor’s degree and ten plus years of experience in the pressure-sensitive or adhesive coating industry
- Minimum three (3) years pressure-sensitive or adhesive coating technology experience
- Degree in Polymer or Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, or Material Science
- Experience in leading cross-functional development projects
- Expertise in physical and analytical polymer chemistry techniques and data interpretation
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to communicate with, and influence, multiple levels across the organization.
- Excellent laboratory hygiene and methodologies
