The Summer 2025 temporary positions offer three orientation dates: April 29, May 19, and June 2. Please consider these dates when applying for a summer position.

This position supports the overall operations of the Foresty Outreach Center as a visitor, community, and educational center. The employee will engage with a diverse group of visitors and contribute to the educational work of the Center. The position entails cleaning and maintaining the facility.

Your Key Responsibilities

• Staffing the welcome desk, greeting visitors and answering questions about the trails, forest, Berea College, etc.
• Maintaining building cleanliness and preparing rental space as needed
• Assisting with programming
• Assisting with group hikes
  
  

Other roles/duties will be assigned as necessary to assist the College in the attainment of the goals set forth and the enhancement of a positive, respectful learning environment for all staff, faculty and students.

Experience required to ensure success in this position:

• Customer service experience preferred
• Work with K-12 ages preferred

• Valid driver’s license, preferred

Physical requirements:

• Ability to navigate campus/public buildings and grounds
• Ability to navigate uneven terrain and walk a minimum of 1 mile
• Ability to occasionally lift 20 pounds
  
  

Environmental conditions:

• Professional office environment with interruptions and noise due to frequent visitors
• Outdoors in varying weather conditions
• Frequent exposure to domestic and wild animals
  
  

Ability to operate the following vehicles or equipment:

• Standard office equipment: computer, phone, etc.
• Operate a car/van, preferred
