We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented individual to join our small law office as a Legal Secretary. As a Legal Secretary, you will provide administrative support to our legal team and assist in the smooth operation of our law office. This is a part-time position with competitive pay.
Duties:
- Prepare and draft legal documents, including pleadings, contracts, and correspondence
- Conduct document review and file management to ensure accuracy and completeness
- Manage calendars, schedule appointments, and coordinate meetings
- Filing, copying, scanning
- Answer phone calls and direct inquiries to the appropriate person or department
- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information and adhere to ethical standards
- Assist in project management tasks, including tracking deadlines and deliverables
Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a Legal Secretary or in a similar role is preferred
- Strong knowledge of landlord/tenant, bankruptcy, and real estate legal terminology and procedures a plus
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in document preparation
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Proficient in legal drafting and proofreading documents for errors or inconsistencies
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment
- The ability to speak Spanish a plus
