What are the responsibilities and job description for the Inventory Control Specialist position at Bericap SC LLC?
Position Purpose
This role has an in-depth understanding of the inventory flow of the business and is responsible for creating and maintaining effective work instructions to support a robust inventory reporting program. This role is responsible for the manager of the day to day tasks performed by our Third Party Warehouse and will collaborate closely with Operations, Planning and Warehousing teams as well as support Material Management functions.
General Responsibilities
- Ensure that all work undertaken or supervised is carried out safely and without injury
- Ensure that all food safety issues are reported to the appropriate manager or supervisor
- Ensure Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) are followed at all times (no jewelry, cell phone, nicotine in any form, etc.)
- Initiates corrective action for non-conformances
- Identify Opportunities for Improvement and enter into See It, Sort It, Report It system
- Duties as assigned per Materials Manager
- Able and willing to wear appropriate PPE as required
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 5%
Inventory Management
- Identify opportunities to improve inventory accuracy, work flow and system constraints
- Actively develop action plans to address non-conformances
- Track and report slow moving and aged inventory, working with Sales and Operations to determine disposition
- Conduct required cycle counts
- Identify and reconcile inventory discrepancies
- Identify issues impacting inventory accuracy and develop and implement plans for resolution
- Audit internal process for accuracy in FIFO
- When necessary instruct/train others with correct work processes
Third Party Warehousing
- Act as 'single point on contact' for the PSR relationship
- Review and approve service invoices ensuring accuracy per contractual agreement
- Manage and coach PSR staff to improve and maintain service level that mirrors our (internal) shipping and inventory control processes
- Responsible for issuing NCR's and claims for below standard performance and service ensuring satisfactory corrective actions are developed and implemented
- Periodically perform audits to ensure FIFO maintained, corrective actions are practiced and processes are being followed
- Prepare and report formal vendor performance evaluations
Internal Support
- Coordinate all outbound sample requirements
- Provide back-up coverage for production planning responsibilities
- Work with Materials Manager to lead the implementation of Supply Chain improvement opportunities and projects
- Miscellaneous reporting as needed
- Report KPI data as required
Education
Bachelor's degree in related discipline referred
