Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory has multiple openings for a Facilities Energy Management Engineer 2.
What You Will Do:
- Collect, manage, and analyze energy and sustainability data using spreadsheet tools. Support the Lab’s monthly electricity recharge process.
- Take the lead on ensuring data quality control.
- Develop and implement process improvements.
- Prepare data summaries for reporting to the Laboratory community, the federal government, the University of California and others.
- Support activities to improve energy and water performance at the Lab, including both internal analysis tasks and external outreach to members of the lab community.
- Support the Lab’s ISO 50001 - certified Energy and Water Management System.
- Track key metrics such as energy and water performance indicators using the Energy
- Management Information System and other data tools. Inventory building systems and equipment based on plans and field audits.
- Assess meter data quality and support activities to investigate meter operation and troubleshoot metering systems. Prepare data visualizations (ongoing reporting) using business intelligence tools.
- Prepare calculation of greenhouse gas emissions based on written protocols. Use building automation and energy management and information systems for monitoring and control of buildings.
What is Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Energy Management, or a related field and 2 years of experience in the job offered or in a related occupation. In the alternative, employer will accept a Master's degree in Engineering, Energy Management, or related field.
- Position requires experience in the following:
- Spreadsheets, including Google Sheets
- Unit conversions related to utility measurement
- Preparing datasets for use by business intelligence tools
- Business intelligence tools for reporting and data visualization, including Tableau, and Google Looker Studio.
- Common greenhouse gas reporting protocols
- Energy Management Information Systems to track, analyze, and manage energy and water data
- Reading utility meters and understanding typical meter reading errors, meter data quality problems, and sources of meter data quality problems
- Spreadsheets, including Google Sheets

- This is a full-time career appointment, exempt (monthly paid) from overtime pay.

- The full salary range of this position is between $92,808.00 to $156,636 per year depending upon the candidate's skills, knowledge, and abilities, including education, certifications, and years of experience.
