Pagidipati Center for Science, Engineering, and Technology Teacher, Grades 2-5:
Berkeley Preparatory School is seeking a full-time teacher for grades 2-5 in the Pagidipati Center for Science, Engineering, and Technology for the 2025-2026 school year.
The Lower Division’s Pagidipati Center for Science, Engineering, and Technology provides students in grades PK-5 an integrated, multidisciplinary approach to learning the knowledge and skills necessary for success in science and technology. Units of study develop background knowledge for the purpose of answering a real-world problem or question. Our approach cultivates the habits of mind necessary for innovation: listening with curiosity and empathy, analyzing information, and a willingness to take risks and make mistakes on the road to a solution or a new idea. Our students learn to ask questions, think critically, and work collaboratively, all while developing their skills and deepening their interest and passion for the disciplines of science, engineering, and technology.
The Pagidipati C-SET teacher plans the instructional program and teaches lessons to whole and small groups that are both age-appropriate and address individual student needs. S/he will also work closely with a co-teacher to instruct students in grades 2-5. Qualified candidates will possess 3-5 years of experience in classroom teaching and a Bachelor’s degree in a related field. A Master’s degree is preferred. A good sense of humor, a positive outlook, and an appreciation of the unique qualities of the age group are essential.
Candidates must show a strong willingness to receive feedback regularly, grow professionally, significantly contribute to the life of the school, and will be eager to work in a culturally and ethnically diverse environment.
Compensation and Benefits:
The appointment will begin August 2025 and is a full-time position with full benefits. The compensation package will be very competitive nationally and commensurate with experience, degree attainment and the national independent school and college markets.
