Responsibilities
This position provides a variety of office support functions for multiple W. R. Berkley companies. Experience with imaging software, MS Outlook, medical billing and/or Worker’s Compensation a plus.
- Monitor, prioritize, and index incoming claim documents using scanning/indexing software
- Prepare and scan incoming claim documents
- Open, sort and distribute all incoming mail for all departments
- Identify and distribute specialty mail on a priority basis
- Sort, weigh, batch and postage all outgoing mail pieces
- Research and document claims using PC
- Print and sort checks, prepare for mailing
- Vendor payment and data entry
- Provide copy services support for all departments
- Act as chat-bot agent, providing service/support to medical providers and injured workers
- Monitor and handle incoming and outgoing faxes for all departments
- Monitor and handle incoming email to general company/claims department inboxes
- Provide back-up coverage and assistance within department
- Assume back-up receptionist duties; answering switchboard, directing calls, greeting visitors
May perform other functions as assigned
- Minimum of twelve months of office experience
- Intermediate PC skills and a working knowledge in a Windows environment
- Self-motivated fast learner who is detail oriented with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks
- Good organizational skills and ability to meet and exceed production metrics
- Effective communication skills with customer service orientation
- Ability to operate fax, copier, scanning and mailroom equipment
- Ability to type 40 wpm with 96% accuracy
- 10-key by touch
- Accurate alphabetical and numerical filing ability
- High school degree or GED
