Responsibilities
Are you looking to expand your insurance knowledge and gain some hands-on experience in the business world? Are you dedicated, hardworking and tend to think outside of the box? Then this quite possibly may be the opportunity for you!
We are currently seeking a SUMMER INTERN. This role will give you an excellent Intern experience in our Berkley Southeast Insurance Corporate office, focused on learning more depth of the commercial business in the property and casualty segment. You will be able to work directly with our Underwriters, Claims and Corporate Staff gaining valuable insurance experience through an 8-week period with time spent in various business operations as follows:
- 2 weeks in claims
- 2 weeks in Corporate Underwriting
- 2 weeks in Branch Underwriting
- 1 week in Actuary
- 1 week split in Finance and Marketing
This is an 8-week summer rotational role, based in Lawrenceville, GA. Currently, we do not provide any housing assistance.
Key functions include but are not limited to the following:
- Processing and/or intake of various reports
- Data analysis and gathering
- Researching industries or segments
- Accounting and analysis/cost benefit
- Introductory Underwriting and Portfolio Management
- Marketing/Market research
Candidate(s) will be assigned an Intern Project at the end of the internship.
Qualifications
• Enrolled in a 4-year university
• Majoring in Risk Management & Insurance, Finance, Business Management, or similar majors
