Corporate Controller
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Corporate Controller to oversee all aspects of financial management, including accounting operations, financial reporting, job costing, and internal controls. The ideal candidate will be well-positioned to transition into a CFO role within five years.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage job costing, ensuring accurate financial tracking, reconciliations, and revenue forecasting.
- Lead the budgeting and forecasting process, developing and maintaining detailed financial projections and variance analyses.
- Collaborate with senior leadership to identify financial risks and opportunities.
- Generate monthly financial reports, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
- Monitor and control costs to ensure adherence to budgets and prevent overruns.
- Review and approve project-related financial transactions, including invoices and payments.
- Ensure compliance with financial policies, regulatory requirements, and audits, including 401(k) and ESOP filings.
- Support internal and external audits, maintaining accurate financial documentation.
- Conduct financial analysis to drive strategic decision-making and operational efficiencies.
- Work closely with various departments to ensure alignment between financial goals and project objectives.
- Oversee ESOP management, working with external consultants and evaluation firms for accurate reporting.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field. CPA or CMA certification is a plus.
- Demonstrated experience as a financial controller, construction controller, or similar financial leadership role.
- Strong background in financial management within the construction or related industry.
- Expertise in budgeting, cost control, and financial reporting.
- Proficiency in financial software, including Procore, Sage Intacct, Microsoft Excel, Teams, Miter Payroll, and Textura.
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with keen attention to detail.
- Ability to multitask, manage multiple priorities, and work independently.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across all levels of an organization.
Working Conditions:
- Office-based environment with occasional travel to project sites.
- May require extended hours to meet deadlines and business needs.
