Assistant Clinical Nurse Manager
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
· Supports the Clinical Nurse Manager in the daily operations of the health center and acts on their behalf as appropriate
· Precept and mentor new employees in order to assure competency in care delivery
· Leads staff through a positive example and demonstrates a working knowledge of performance expectations for all employees
· Oversees ordering process for supplies to ensure proper inventory is kept
· Provides coverage in daily patient care activities
· Maintains a customer-oriented relationship with team members
· Assures diversity of staff is positively fostered in the work environment. Actively involves all groups in shared decision-making where appropriate.
· May participate in the hiring process
· Fosters patient, family, staff, and provider satisfaction.
· Appropriately integrates technology into the day-to-day care of patients and leverages technology to improve patient care outcomes.
· Assists Clinical Nurse Manager to assure workplace safety for the employees and demonstrates knowledge of regulatory requirements for workplace safety, i.e., CMS, OSHA, Joint Commission, etc.
· In collaboration with the Clinical Nurse Manager, supports performance improvement activities through problem identification, assessment, data gathering, change implementation, and evaluation of outcomes
· Participates and/or provides support in BCHC initiatives as delegated by the Clinical Nurse Manager including, but not limited to: HRSA 18 Requirements, Joint Commission standards, Primary Care Medical Home, and Quality and Risk Management Plan
· Maintains effective, positive, and collaborative relationships within and among the Center’s staff, as well as with patients and outside health-care resources.
· Other duties as required.
Education and Requirements
· Graduate of an accredited RN program.
· Active Pennsylvania RN Nursing License.
· BLS certification.
· Ambulatory experience (primary care and/or pediatric) highly desirable.
· Experience with Electronic Medical Record system and standard Office software.
