Overview
We are seeking enthusiastic and dedicated Camp Counselors to join our team for an engaging and rewarding summer camp experience. As a Camp Counselor, you will play a vital role in creating a safe, fun, and educational environment for children. Your responsibilities will include supervising campers, leading activities, and fostering personal growth while ensuring that each child feels valued and included. This position is ideal for individuals with a passion for working with children and a background in childcare or education. We spend the majority of the day outside and explore in the creek regularly.
Duties
- Supervise and engage with campers in various activities, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times.
- Plan, organize, and lead recreational activities such as arts and crafts, sports, games, and educational workshops.
- Provide support and guidance to campers in developing social skills, teamwork, and conflict resolution.
- Assist in maintaining a clean and organized camp environment.
- Communicate effectively with campers and fellow staff members regarding camper behavior and progress.
- Implement first aid procedures as necessary and maintain awareness of health and safety protocols.
- Foster an inclusive atmosphere that accommodates children with diverse needs, including those requiring special education support.
Requirements
- Previous experience in childcare, babysitting, or classroom management is preferred.
- Knowledge of childhood development principles and the ability to educate campers on various topics.
- Certification in First Aid and CPR (training provided)
- Experience working with children in a camp or daycare setting is a plus.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to connect with children of different ages.
- Patience, enthusiasm, and a positive attitude towards working with children.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team while also being self-motivated.
