Job Description

Directs and exercises functional authority over all renewable energy activities associated with asset and controls projects. Coordinates and implements renewables asset management. Administers project contracts, manages the use of consultants and has fiscal responsibility for all assigned asset management projects. Responsible for the organization and direction of engineering and asset management to meet company objectives for improvement of existing renewable assets and control systems.

Responsibilities

Monitor and develop strategic and operational plans for control, management and improvement of renewables asset management and for ensuring alignment with company goals and objectives. Coordinate with OT Systems, CSO, IT and other groups to implement programs associated with renewable energy asset management as well as investigate any new technologies as assigned. As requested, participates in the development of the corporate and departmental business plans. (25%)

Development and implementation of various renewable analysis, metrics and performance reports including critical cybersecurity analysis. (20%)

Directs and provides technical work, including cybersecurity analysis of industrial control technologies, in the planning, designing and procurement of new, systems or changes and maintenance of existing industrial control systems at MidAmerican Energy Company's renewable units. (15%)

Responsible for leading and supervising a team of engineers as they develop, test, modify, and create industrial control solutions to connect new and/or repowered assets into Berkshire Hathaway Energy's network. (15%)

Plan, direct, monitor and report on all workflow aspects of the renewable asset management program. Assess renewable health and prescribe preventative maintenance routines for critical components with strong emphasis on MidAmerican Energy Company's industrial control system cybersecurity policies. (10%)

Research and develop a formal renewable asset management program and continually explore new technological solutions. Negotiate cybersecurity terms with suppliers to ensure all company cybersecurity policies are followed. (10%)

Ensure compliance with environmental policies, procedures and regulations. (5%)

Perform administrative activities necessary for the effective management of the department, including employee safety, selection and development of employees, salary administration, budget administration, employee counseling and motivation, organization goals and objectives, and planning, organizing, integrating, measuring, and reporting the work performed within the department. (5%)

Perform additional responsibilities as requested or assigned. (0-5%)

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in engineering, industrial control systems or related field. (Typically six years of related, progressive work experience would be needed for candidates applying for this position who do not possess a bachelor's degree.

Master's degree in engineering or business administration preferred.

Eight years of related experience, including three years of IT related project management responsibilities.

Must demonstrate strong knowledge of industrial control systems and working understanding of IT operating systems and network concepts with an emphasis in the cybersecurity aspects of each of these technologies.

Excellent oral and written communication skills, including presentation skills. Effective interpersonal skills and leadership abilities. Effective analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills.

Project management skills; ability to prioritize and handle multiple issues and projects concurrently.
