Test Automation Engineer
Berkshire Hathaway GUARD Insurance Companies is currently enhancing their Quality Assurance area and is seeking a Test Automation Engineer to join our team! We are looking to fill this position in Wilkes-Barre, Philadelphia, Conshohocken, PA or Parsippany, NJ.
Job Responsibilities
The role: Test Automation Engineer
As a Test Automation Engineer (SDET) at GUARD, you will help to influence and mature our testing practice while working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment working with Software Developers, Business Analysts, and Test Analysts to test and deploy business processes throughout the organization. You will be a key member of our Quality Assurance team that implements the appropriate tools and processes to ensure our system meets business and technical requirements. Your work will be focused to a specific development team with the goal of delivering a quality product that meets Quality standards.
Responsibilities:
- Designing and implementing automated testing solutions for software applications.
- Defining test an efficient automation strategy.
- Participating in planning, estimating, and review processes.
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to understand testing requirements.
- Developing and executing complex automated tests for functional and regression testing.
- Identifying and documenting software defects and inconsistencies.
- Investigating problems in software as an outcome of test automation.
- Researching, evaluating, and implementing new tools.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, or Business, Accounting, Math, Finance, Statistics, or Software Engineering is strongly preferred. Other certifications or relevant experience may be considered in place of a degree.
Technical Skills (Required):
- Experience implementing and integrating test automation frameworks and platforms.
- Experiencing using and integrating Azure DevOps pipelines (ADO).
- Experience working in an Agile SDLC methodology.
- Minimum five years of experience developing Test Automation frameworks and tools (ex: Leapwork, Selenium, Katalon, SoapUI, MSTest, and VSTest).
- Proven experience in automation testing, test-driven development or API testing.
- Minimum five years of experience writing SQL or other query language.
- Minimum two years of experience in manual testing.
- Experience in programming languages such as C# and Python.
- Experience interacting with development, project management, and business partners.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Preferred:
- Certification in Test Automation.
- Experience with Azure DevOps, Micro Focus Quality Center, qTest, or other Test Management tools.
- Experience with continuous integration (CI).
- Experience working in the Financial or Insurance Industries.
- Experience working in Agile methodology.
- Experienced working in a matrixed environment.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
