What are the responsibilities and job description for the Summer Camp Waterfront Director position at Berkshire Lake Arts Camp?
ABOUT US
Berkshire Lake Arts Camp is located in the Berkshires of Massachusetts, about 3 hours from NYC and 2 hours from Boston. Our camp is the best of both worlds for girls who want a traditional summer camp experience while also pursuing their passion for visual and performing arts. We offer 1-week or 2-week programs for girls ages 7-15. We complement top-tier arts instruction with all kinds of traditional camp fun, most notably including all of our waterfront activities!

DATES & COMPENSATION
The start date for the Waterfront Director is June 16, end date is August 9, 2025, with option to extend into the fall if desired. Private housing, and paid travel to camp are provided. Salary starts at $5000 for the summer.
POSITION EXPERIENCE, SKILLS & RESPONSIBILITIES
Required prior experience: prior lifeguard experience at a multi-guard facility OR prior aquatics leadership experience (such as Supervisor on Duty or Head Guard), must also be currently lifeguard certified or willing to get recertified at camp (free certification is provided at the beginning of the summer for those who need it)
Essential skills: Organization, ability to manage and mentor others, teamwork, strong risk management skills and safety mindset
Responsibilities: Our Waterfront is located on Lake Ashmere, affording us the opportunity to do a lot of waterfront activities. So this leadership position is key to our campers having a wonderful summer! You will oversee the waterfront team of 2-3 lifeguards, and plan/supervise all waterfront programming – including free swim, paddling, water trampoline, and tubing. Other responsibilities include assisting in programming outside of waterfront and participating in the end of session cleanup duties.
