Job Summary
This position is responsible for the accurate, precise and timely registering and processing of laboratory specimens from outside accounts or entities. Responsible for coordinating and processing all specimens. Processing specimens includes accurate registration of patient information, including demographics and insurance information, accurate ordering of tests, accurate labeling of tubes and specimens. Processing also may include the separation of serum, organization of all handling, sorting and organization of transport samples to the departments involved including samples being sent to other laboratories. Position relates to overall function of the laboratory and the hospital in view of patient care, so test results are not compromised. Acts as a laboratory liaison between all outreach accounts. Presents self and department in a professional manner at all times. Refers questions/problems to the appropriate Supervisor/Manager
