Job Summary
The Surgical Residency Program Associate is responsible for all projects, new and existing, in accordance with departmental requirements and interacts directly and indirectly with medical students, house staff, attending physicians at Berkshire Medical Center, University of New England College of Osteopathic Medicine (UNECOM), the Osteopathic Postgraduate Training Institute (OPTI) office, the Northeast Osteopathic Medical Education Network (NEOMEN), and other healthcare facilities. In addition, the position contracts with the accrediting body of the American Osteopathic Association (AOA) and Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) and is responsible for adhering to all AOA and ACGME policies and procedures, as well as NEOMEN responsibilities.
The Surgical Program Associate is also responsible for oversight of the residency management program, New Innovations, for the training program. This includes but is not limited to updating faculty, staff, and residents; inputting and updating block schedules and rotations; inputting and updating program policies, procedures, and curriculum components; updating and distributing evaluations; monitoring duty hour compliance; and tracking scholarly activity for residents and faculty.
Experience
Four years of project management, preferably in a health care, educational, or computer/website-related setting preferred.Education
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience in related field.
Additional Requirements
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and working with a variety of websites for educational purposes, both on the front and back end.
- Knowledge of hospital educational setting highly desirable.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a busy environment with multiple demands and frequent interruptions with excellent organizational, planning, and time management skills as a competent and consistent planner.
- Must possess maturity and responsibility needed to work independently and under pressure, as well as the ability to work well with others and lead them as a team.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and negotiating skills.
- Must possess a great attention to detail with the ability to think logically and creatively to solve problems.
