RESPONSIBILITIES :
The ideal candidate will oversee the total care and safety of all residents and employees during his / her tour of duty.
Supervises and assists all nursing personnel in their work performance when necessary.
Performs duties of Unit Nurse when necessary.
QUALIFICATIONS :
Currently licensed as Registered Professional Nurse in New York State.
Has minimum 1-year supervisory experience in a health care setting.
Demonstrates evidence of leadership and management skills.
Has knowledge of Federal and State health regulations.
Experience with care plans and MDS.
Experience with ventilator equipment and LV. Therapy preferred.
Physically and mentally capable of performing job responsibilities.

- Provides nursing care to assigned residents in a nursing home environment.
- Registered Nurse with license in NYS.
- Preferably at least two years of recent acute care experience.
- One year of experience must be in supervision / administration, preferably in a Nursing Home or Hospital setting
- Good organization, communication and human relations skills.
- Must be physically and mentally capable of performing routine job duties
- Strives for excellence in all aspects of quality nursing care
- Records patient histories, performs various diagnostic tests, administers medications.
- Observes patients' progress and records observations in patient medical records.
- Be personable with residents, families, and staff in a professional, cooperative and sensitive manner
- Must have compassion, tolerance and understanding for the elderly
- Possess the leadership qualities that motivate and direct.
- Has the ability to supervise all aides in performing their duties by checking their work closely to ensure all assignments have been completed with care and accuracy
