Job Summary:
The Assistant Director of Security provides administrative and operational support to the Director of Security in managing security services for commercial and residential areas.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Hire, train, and handle discipline and termination of subordinate employees.
- Assist with or conduct timely and constructive performance evaluations.
- Supervising Security Personnel: Oversee a team of security staff, including officers, coordinators, and other security-related roles.
- Training and Development: Ensure the security team receives appropriate training on protocols, emergency response, and new security technologies.
- Performance Monitoring: Evaluate the performance of security staff, provide feedback, and make recommendations for improvement or additional training as needed.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Communicate with management on behalf of the Director of Security.
- Act as a proxy for the Director of Security as needed in their absence.
- Collaborate with the Director of Security to sustain, promote, and grow departmental programs and services.
- Manage budgets for regular and special programs and expenses.
- Participate in strategic planning and preside over meetings as needed.
- Maintain files and records as requested, including overseeing and maintaining files of applications, interviews, offer letters and rejections, employee files, and evaluation dates.
- Create and manage the annual calendar of activities such as special events, fundraising initiatives, and similar projects.
- Draft and maintain policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with applicable local, state, and federal laws.
- Organize committee meetings, including determining the time and place, and drafting and delivering correspondence such as agendas, minutes, and transcripts.
- Oversee security operations for commercial and residential properties, ensuring the safety and security of clients and their assets.
- Develop and implement security protocols and procedures.
- Conduct regular security audits and risk assessments.
- Coordinate with local law enforcement and emergency services as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in a related field required.
- Three to five years of related experience required, with supervisory experience preferred.
- Knowledge of the philosophy, mission, leadership needs, and planning requirements of the organization preferred.
- Experience in security management, law enforcement, or a related field is highly desirable.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
