Job Title: Medical Receptionist – Internal Medicine (MDVIP Partner Practice)

Position Summary:
As the first point of contact for our patients, the Medical Receptionist plays a vital role in delivering an exceptional patient experience. This position is ideal for someone who is professional, organized, and thrives in a patient-focused environment. You will manage front desk operations and be an integral part of a supportive and collaborative care team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Greet and check-in patients with warmth, professionalism, and attention to detail
- Manage multi-line phone system and direct calls appropriately
- Schedule appointments, manage provider calendars, and send reminders
- Verify insurance and collect co-pays and outstanding balances
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records in the EHR system (Athena experience preferred)
- Coordinate referrals and obtain prior authorizations as needed
- Support general administrative functions to ensure smooth office flow
- Uphold the privacy and dignity of every patient interaction
- Contribute to a culture of service excellence and continuous improvement
What We’re Looking For:
- Previous experience in a medical front office or concierge-style medical practice preferred
- Previous experience with AthenaHealth EHR
- Friendly, polished communication style—both in-person and by phone
- Strong multitasking, organizational, and time management skills
- Tech-savvy with experience with Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to remain calm and efficient in a fast-paced clinical environment
- Team player with a “patients-first” mindset and a proactive approach
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional healthcare admin training a plus
