Job Summary : Under the direction of Service Connection Manager, the Service Connection Supervisor is a team player providing day to day program oversight, tenant engagement and ensures quality services to families living in San Francisco at our Holly Courts and Alemany Housing sites. The Service Connection Supervisor position requires a high degree of initiative, project management, ability to practice boundaries, professionalism, strong organization and follow-through skills who is able to mentor a diverse group of staff.
The Organization- Bernal Heights Neighborhood Center (BHNC) is a non-profit community based multi-service agency founded in 1978. Our mission is “…to preserve and enhance the ethnic, cultural, and economic diversity of Bernal Heights and surrounding neighborhoods. We promote community action to build a just and equitable community for all. BHNC focuses on the needs of people with low and moderate incomes.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES :
Supervise program and staff to achieve all program and funder contract deliverables.
Support the development and execution of procedures, intakes, assessments, service plans and post service evaluation process to include the implementation of Salesforce Case Management and Asana project and task management
Review funder database, client files, sign in sheets for accuracy and program compliance
Assist in the creation and execution of the program quarterly workplan, event budgets and expenditures
Supervise, mentor, train, develop, staff .
Practice boundaries, exercise discretion and sound judgment with staff and residents
Develop community building activities that are equitable, culturally diverse and align the scope of the work for the program.
Incorporate trauma informed and cultural humility practices in programming and interaction with staff.
Develops partnerships and collaborative programming with neighboring organizations a
Partner with leadership to develop and streamline a process for collecting, maintaining and distributing statistical data and complete documentation in a timely manner, including submitting reporting on all contracts
Support client case review meetings.
Build trust with residents and be an active listener and effective problem solve of emerging issues.
Support services / BHNC’s role in housing retention and eviction in partnership with property management
Support the execution of all mandated reporting, including BHNC Incident reports, APS and CPS
Support BHNC training and compliance with all HIPAA and PHI policies and procedures
Attend agency events, staff meetings and other program meetings as required / needed.
Valid California driver license, with three years good driving record
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum of 3 years of program supervision / management in a social service setting, preferably at at an affordable housing site
A minimum of three years experience providing case management or social services for adults / seniors / families preferably at a housing site
Demonstrated ability to implement programs that are culturally responsive and diverse
Experience working in low-income communities of color an an understanding of how of substance abuse, mental health issues and working with people who have various socioeconomic levels including formerly incarcerated individuals, foster care, etc
Enthusiasm for leadership development and community engagement in a mixed income, multi-racial, multi-ethnic community including affordable housing developments.
Able to establish department boundary protocol, exercise discretion and sound judgment on a daily basis.
Experience in overseeing and implementing confidential policies and procedures that include mandated reporting laws.
Familiar with resources and support services in San Francisco or comparable resources in another city
Familiar with Salesforce and / or similar system
Fluency both written and verbal in Spanish, Samoan, or Cantonese strongly desired.
Proficiency in MS Office, Gmail Suite, Asana, Zoom
Strong organizational and communication, oral and written
Ability to multi-task and follow up and follow through on assignments
Bachelor's Degree in Social Work or a related field.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS : Requires frequent sitting, typing and computer use
- occasionally requires pushing and / or pulling objects, walk up and down stairs and / or hills, lifting and / or carrying up to 25 lbs.
- requires the ability to frequently move about or remain seated depending on the task at hand.
This full-time, exempt position includes a competitive salary based on experience with employee paid benefits that include medical, dental, life, EAP, generous paid time off, and holidays, paid lunch, monthly cell phone stipend and more. Must be able to work 9 to 5pm Monday through Friday with at least 1 late days per week (10 : 30am to 6 : 30pm) with occasional evening and weekend hours.
