About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Energy Efficiency Specialist to join our team at Bernard, Nickels and Associates. As a key member of our energy solutions department, you will be responsible for conducting in-depth energy audits, analyzing building systems, and developing comprehensive energy efficiency plans.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct Level I, II, and III energy audits of MUSH facilities on Long Island and the greater NYC area, identifying areas of improvement and opportunities for cost savings.
- Perform detailed energy calculations and review partner-provided calculations to ensure accuracy and compliance with industry standards.
- Develop and maintain knowledge of local utility rebates, federal incentives, and other programs that support energy-efficient upgrades.
- Collaborate with clients to understand their needs, budget requirements, and goals, providing tailored solutions that meet their unique challenges.
- Communicate complex energy-related information to clients, stakeholders, and internal teams through clear, concise writing and presentation skills.
Requirements
- Mastery of Microsoft Excel, including formulas and pivot tables, is essential for this role.
- Detailed understanding of mechanical and HVAC systems, as well as electrical systems and renewable technologies.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritizing tasks and meeting deadlines while maintaining exceptional quality.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, with experience reading plans, specifications, and drawings.
- Preferred qualifications include experience with school districts, EPCs, and NYSED, as well as energy modeling expertise and PE or CEM certification.
