Schedule: Monday-Friday (possible Saturdays as well for crane lifts), 40 hours per week
Pay Range: $55 to $60 per hour (NOTE: No Per-Diem or OT is available for this position)
Overview: Our client is a leading provider of renewable energy solutions, dedicated to driving the transition to a sustainable future. With a commitment to excellence and innovation, they specialize in designing, developing, and implementing solar projects of all sizes. As they embark on a new $20M solar project in Eden Prairie, MN, they are seeking an experienced Solar Construction Manager to lead the successful construction of this project, which will include the installation of solar panels on parking garages and rooftops. This position requires a hands-on approach and strong leadership skills to ensure the project is completed safely, on time, and within budget. The ideal candidate will have previous experience managing solar projects and a deep understanding of construction management principles.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the planning, scheduling, and execution of construction activities for a high-profile commercial solar project.
- Coordinate with project teams, subcontractors, vendors, and clients to ensure efficient and effective construction operations.
- Manage project budgets, procurement, and cost control, including the review and approval of project expenses and change orders.
- Oversee the selection, hiring, and performance of subcontractors and vendors, and negotiate contracts and agreements as needed.
- Conduct regular site inspections to monitor progress, quality, and safety compliance, and address any issues or concerns proactively.
- Implement and enforce safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe working environment for all personnel on the construction site.
- Maintain accurate project documentation, including contracts, permits, drawings, and reports, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Communicate regularly with project stakeholders to provide updates on project status, milestones, and deliverables, and address any concerns or inquiries.
- Resolve conflicts or disputes that may arise during the construction process, and facilitate effective problem-solving and decision-making.
- Ensure that all work is completed in accordance with applicable building codes, standards, and regulations.
Qualifications:
- 3 years of experience in construction management, with a proven track record of successfully managing commercial solar or renewable energy projects.
- Strong knowledge of construction processes, techniques, and best practices.
- Current OHSA 30-Hour Training strongly preferred.
- Experience managing subcontractors on construction sites for safety and quality assurance.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and motivate project teams.
- Proficiency in project/construction management software and tools (e.g. Procore).
- Familiarity with safety regulations and compliance requirements.
- Ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and adapt to changing priorities and deadlines.
- Valid driver's license.
