As an HR Coordinator at Bernhardt Furniture, you will play a vital role in supporting our operations and fostering a positive work environment.
Primary Responsibilities
The HR Coordinator is responsible for :
Onboarding / Offboarding Processes : Managing new hire onboarding and employee exit procedures.Compliance and Reporting : Ensuring employment practices align with regulatory requirements and overseeing reporting.Employee Relations : Addressing employee concerns and fostering positive workplace relationships.Benefits and Medical Administration : Administering employee benefits and overseeing medical reconciliation.Safety, Welfare, and Wellness Programs : Supporting initiatives that promote employee safety and well-being.Leave of Absence Management : Coordinating leave processes, documentation, and communication.Daily HR Operations : Overseeing the day-to-day HR functions at the plant under the guidance of the HR Divisional Manager.Additional Responsibilities
Assisting the HR Manager with policy implementation and workforce safety initiatives.Filing and maintaining employee documents in an organized manner.Supporting the development of a high-performing workforce and fostering an employee-focused culture emphasizing quality and continuous improvement.Providing coverage for the HR team during PTO or sick leave.Key Skills and Qualifications
To excel in this role, candidates should have the following qualifications :
Education and Experience :
Minimum of 1-2 years of Human Resources experience.High School Diploma required; Associate degree preferred.Technical Skills :
Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.Knowledge of JD Edwards and Kronos (preferred).Industry Knowledge :
Familiarity with HR functions in the furniture or manufacturing industries (preferred).Competencies :
Strong knowledge of HR laws and regulations.Exceptional organizational and multi-tasking abilities.High attention to detail and a sense of urgency.Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment.Effective interpersonal and communication skills to interact across all organizational levels.Self-motivation and a team-oriented attitude.Professional Attributes :
